Just attended the D CEO and SMU Cox School of Business sponsored "CEO of the Year Award" event. Congratulations to Gary Kelly, the good natured CEO of Southwest Airlines, who won the honor. In his acceptance, he addressed the fact that he was following a legend (Herb Kelleher, who was in attendance). Mr. Kelly said with a smile, "It's like a Dad handing his son the keys to a bright, shiny new car, and saying, 'Now, son, don't wreck it!'"
